RFD Appoints New National Marine Product Manager

Leading safety and marine product manufacturer RFD has appointed Craig Johnson to the position of National Marine Product Manager.

Appointed by RFD’s Managing Director Mark Barker, Craig Johnson brings a wealth of sales and marine product experience from his previous roles undertaken in his homeland of the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining RFD, Craig Johnson held a Key Account Management, Area Sales and Business Development position for the UK subsidiary of leading recreational boating equipment manufacturer, Plastimo.

Responsible for sales, margin and growth of key accounts and identifying new market opportunities, Craig gained a deep insight into the global marine market while developing new markets for Plastimo products.

RFD is Australia’s leading supplier of marine equipment including brands such as Aquapro inflatable boats, ACR electronics, Aquaglide water sport products and Plastimo boating equipment.

Craig Johnson’s role and experience developed while working at Plastimo cannot be underestimated with the company employing 300 people across Europe and the United States, marketing over 6000 products to over 7500 dealers across 104 countries.

Now based in Sydney at the RFD Head Office, Craig will manage the marine product range along with managing the technical aspects of the RFD life raft business.

“Craig brings a solid sales and business development background that will greatly assist RFD in growing our marine products in Australia.”

Along with managing sales growth for RFD, the National Marine Product Manager will also develop a range of marketing objectives with Craig Johnson equally suited to the task.

“RFD’s broad product line has a lot of potential to expand in the Australian marine market,” explained Craig.

“In Australia RFD is synonymous with marine safety products where in fact we also offer a growing range of recreational products from leading international manufacturers. I’m certainly looking forward to my new role in Australia.”

When Craig Johnson is not in the office, he can be found in the sports arena playing football or cutting laps in the local pool. He has a deft hand for playing the guitar and also intends to satisfy his travel itch while here in Australia.
