CruiseCraft Outsider Proves Quite A Catch
CruiseCraft has provided the ultimate boating prize give-away for the annual Boyne-Tannum Hook Up Fishing competition, with local Gladstone chiropractor Jean-Pierre Selsis taking home the CruiseCraft Outsider 575 walk-around.

Supplied in conjunction with local CruiseCraft dealer Queensland Coast Boating and Marine, the CruiseCraft Outsider 575 attracted huge interest over the three day competition with over 3000 entries vying for fishing success.

A packed crowd of more than 7000 waited in anticipation to hear the final draw announcement on the last night of Gladstone’s famous fishing calendar event. After hearing his name announced, Jean Pierre could not contain his elation and ran to collect his prize.

“I could not believe I had won. I am very excited…I am elated”, said Mr Selsis.

“My fishing buddy and I spent the weekend huddled in a cabin of my 1975 CruiseCraft Regal boat trying to catch fish.”

The ‘drought-breaking” reputation of the annual Hook-Up event was upheld with over 130mm of rain falling over the Saturday forcing the cancellation of the evenings entertainment and prize draws. Although strong winds prevailed, the clouds broke on Sunday and paved the way for a historic crowd turnout to witness the CruiseCraft major prise draw giveaway that evening.

“The atmosphere was unbelievable,” said CruiseCraft Sales and Marketing Manager, Peter Benston.

“CruiseCraft has played a major sponsoring role in the Boyne-Tannum Hook-up event for the last five years and we are continually amazed at the popularity of the fishing tournament and the enthusiasm of the community. The double-draw on Sunday night was huge- the crowd was simply awesome.”

CruiseCraft supplied a popular 575 Outsider walkaround cabin boat fitted with a Mercury engine on a CruiseCraft trailer. Branded as one of the most versatile boats in the CruiseCraft fleet, the 575 Outsider performs perfectly on both the epic fishing weekend and the family water sports session.

The Observer Boyne-Tannum Hook Up is a fishing institution with anglers travelling from across the eastern seaboard to the quiet coastal town of Boyne Tannum for the Queens Birthday long weekend. Staged at Bray Park on Boyne Island, the competition is a community event with entertainment, demonstrations, kids’ rides and marine displays.

The Boyne-Tannum Hook Up competition features 30 fishing categories including Live Fish with daily giveaways for largest fish caught. The Hook-up committee and local company, and Live Fish category sponsor, Boyne Smelters play an important role in promoting sustainable fishing by constructing a huge holding tank to display caught fish prior to release.

CruiseCraft is a wholly family owned, third generation Australian boat manufacturing business, operating from their Brisbane manufacturing facility. CruiseCraft boats are distributed exclusively through a network of authorised Dealers throughout Australia and selected international markets.
