Seeing Double at ABC Crane Hire

Less than 12 months after taking delivery of a new Tadano GT-550E crane from James Equipment, ABC Crane Hire in Western Australia has just welcomed a second identical Tadano to their highly adaptable crane hire business.

Over the last 10 years, ABC Crane Hire has managed to build a strong customer base with a simple philosophy that no job is too difficult. This welcome attitude has intensified the business over the last 12 months and, since the first Tadano GT-550E arrived, the contracts have kept coming.

The new 55 tonne GT-550E has been in service for only 1 month and, like the first, is performing exactly as ABC Crane Hire Managing Director Jamie Jones expected.

“Our new crane is spot on like the first and we’re even contemplating getting a third,” said Jamie Jones.

“The extra reach of the Tadano is great and the carrier will go anywhere. The general nature of our hire business means we are involved with anything from the construction and mining industry to accident vehicle recovery.”

With Western Australia still in the grips of a mining boom, the outlook for crane hire work is positive for ABC Crane Hire. However, with Mandurah’s waterfront real estate proving irresistible to developers, Jamie Jones is already struggling to keep up with local demand.

“Business has not let up over the year and we can’t see the boom slowing down anytime soon,” said Jamie Jones.

“Our second GT-550E now makes us the largest crane operator in Mandurah and we are currently expanding our staff to keep up. We’ll travel anywhere that our customers are willing to take us but the local work is certainly keeping us busy at this stage. The GT’s are so versatile that we will be looking for a third Tadano in 2007.”

Australia’s fascination with the Tadano GT-550E continues to intensify and with an impressive lift chart, user friendly design and reliable Japanese engineering, the Tadano hydraulic truck crane package is proving hard to overlook. The 55 tonne Tadano also has a top speed of 83kph, 42m main boom, Euro 2 turbo diesel technology and choice of left or right hand drive configurations.

Establishing a solid reputation over 15 years, James Equipment has a broad knowledge base of crane engineering and a large network of international suppliers to draw upon. Serving the crane industry right across Australia, Melbourne-based James Equipment has an excellent range of used cranes in stock from international manufacturers including Demag, Kato, Liebherr, and Kobelco.
