Tadano All-Rounder Gives ALC Rigging A Lift
Melbourne based crane business ALC Rigging recently took delivery of a new 30 tonne Tadano Hydraulic Truck Crane supplied by crane retailer James Equipment.

Beginning in 1999, ALC Rigging has specialised in steel erection for Melbourne’s thriving construction sector. Director of ALC Rigging, Luca Carli, grew tired of relying on crane hire equipment and decided on a new Tadano TL-300E truck crane to meet his lifting needs.

A skilled rigger himself, Luca Carli spent the majority of his working time utilising the services of a broad range of rental cranes. His experience across a broad range of crane brands gave him confidence in the decision to purchase his own Tadano crane.

“Having such a long association with the rental crane market, I had a good idea of what we needed for our business when it came time to purchase our own crane,” said Mr Carli.

“Our new Tadano TL-300E is perfect for our type of steel erection business and the Tadano name has a great reputation.”

The Tadano TL-300E hydraulic truck crane shares the same pedigree as the popular GT-550E to deliver brilliant power-to-weight performance and an outstanding chart for a crane of its size. A four-section 33m main boom delivers an impressive 30 tonne lifting capacity with an elevation speed of -3° to +80° in 70 seconds. The 2-stage extension jib is underslung and spans 8.7m to 14.5m.

A six cylinder water-cooled direct injection turbo diesel engine pushes the TL-300E carrier to a top speed of 64kph. Producing 202kW of power and a commanding 961Nm of torque, the Nissan diesel carrier features a 7 speed transmission, 300 litre fuel capacity and well-renowned Tadano reliability.

Having known of the James Equipment name through previous crane industry experience, Mr Carli looked to James Equipment specialists Paul Collard and Peter Shelton for their crane product support.

“Both Paul Collard and Peter Shelton looked after my crane purchase,” said Mr Carli.

“I had originally planned to purchase an alternative Japanese crane brand, but James Equipment made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse. I ended up getting what I wanted at a good price.”

Based upon the success of his experience with the Tadano brand and James Equipment service, ALC Rigging is considering the idea of a smaller crane acquisition in the not too distant future to support their steel erection business.

Establishing a solid reputation over 15 years, James Equipment has a broad knowledge base of crane engineering and a large network of international suppliers to draw upon. Serving the crane industry right across Australia, Melbourne-based James Equipment has an excellent range of used cranes in stock from international manufacturers including Demag, Kato, Liebherr, and Kobelco.
