In announcing the acquisition, Peter Shelton (General Manager of James Equipment Pty Ltd) said that James Equipment and GM Baden are an ideal corporate fit.
“Our two companies ideally compliment one another,” Peter Shelton said.
“While James Equipment is a market leader in the truck mounted hydraulic crane market segment, GM Baden is an acknowledged industry authority in the all-terrain segment. When combined we can now offer customers the most comprehensive sales and service coverage across both market segments.”
As the authorised Australian distributor for the Japanese built Tadano range of cranes, James Equipment has established an exceptional track record with the range of truck mounted hydraulic cranes. With the arrival of Tadano All-Terrain models now beginning to flow into Australia, the acquisition of GM Baden has been made at a strategically significant time.
“GM Baden has a well deserved reputation in the crane industry as being leaders in the all-terrain market. Their past association with the Liebherr
brand of cranes has provided GM Baden with an impressive service support infrastructure and network,” Peter Shelton said.
“Over a period of time the service support structures in place at GM Baden will be integrated into the James Equipment organisation. The breadth and depth of technical support, service and spare parts available from the combined resources of James Equipment and GM Baden will be exceptional.”
G.M Baden Pty Ltd commenced trading in 1988. The company has substantial service facilities in both Sydney and Brisbane. The Sydney workshop at Arndell Park employs 35 staff and has individual sections for engine, transmission and hydraulic repairs plus a fully equipped engine dyno test room.
The spare parts system is just as impressive. The parts department holds $1.5m worth of parts. Operators in the field are supported with 8 service vehicles offering a 24 hour on-call service.
“Through the combined resources of James Equipment and now GM Baden, our customers will benefit from the best technical support and parts service across the board,” Peter Shelton said.
Establishing a solid reputation over 15 years, James Equipment has a broad knowledge base of crane engineering and a large network of international suppliers to draw upon. Serving the crane industry with locations Australia wide, James Equipment has an excellent range of used cranes in stock from international manufacturers including Demag, Kato, Liebherr, and Kobelco.
