Based out of Leeton and Griffiths in south-west NSW, MIA Crane Service is a family run company under the stewardship of father and son team Rob and Evan Hillman.
Establishing a successful concrete plant business in 1976, the Hillman family looked to diversify into the crane industry by purchasing MIA Crane Service 6 years ago. Hard work and a strong commitment to customer service has seen the crane hire business flourish, with the new Tadano GT-550E a testament to ongoing success.
“We have been happy with the Tadano brand in the past and we settled on a new 55 tonne Tadano GT-550E to replace our 1991 model Tadano 50 tonne crane,” said MIA Crane Service Managing Director Evan Hillman.
“We have only just taken delivery of the new Tadano and from what we have heard about the crane, we believe it will suit our needs well. We have a 25 tonne Tadano crane and a 14 tonne Franna in our ranks so when it came time to purchase another crane, the GT-550E appeared to be the most mobile and best fit for our local area and type of business.”
Servicing a broad area across a wide range of industries, MIA Crane Service has looked after a variety of clients from the wine industry, to construction and general crane hire. Not one to turn away potential business, Evan Hillman believes the family company has grown because of their versatility and adaptability to meet a wide range of lifting requirements.
The Tadano GT-550E is quickly becoming the most popular crane on the Australian market serving a wide range of applications across the construction, resources and hire industries. After a considerable amount of crane research, Evan Hillman looked to James Equipment for the new Tadano.
“I dealt with Paul Collard and Nathan Regester at James Equipment and was very happy with their service,” said Evan Hillman.
“From first appearances, the crane looks great. We have known about James Equipment for a long time and the Tadano GT-550E seemed to be the right crane for our needs.”
Gaining a strong following for its lift chart performance and user friendly operation, the Tadano GT-550E hydraulic truck crane boasts a 55 tonne lifting capacity from a 42m main boom and 14.6m fly jib. A Euro 2- 6 cylinder turbo diesel carrier pushes the GT-550E to a top speed of 83kph and delivers 257kW and 1460Nm of torque. Low maintenance costs, user friendly joystick operated upper cabin and a sleek design complete the versatile picture.
Establishing a solid reputation over 15 years, James Equipment has a broad knowledge base of crane engineering and a large network of international suppliers to draw upon. Serving the crane industry right across Australia, Melbourne-based James Equipment has an excellent range of used cranes in stock from international manufacturers including Demag, Kato, Liebherr, and Kobelco.
