The well respected crane operations manager has worked in Western Australia’s crane industry for the last 16 years and recently ventured out on his own to begin a new crane hire company.
The newly established Pinjarra Crane & Access Hire combines a 2 year old plant access and equipment business owned and operated by Chris Fairman. Having spent a significant amount of time behind the wheel of many Tadano cranes, the choice was straightforward when Chris looked for his first crane recruit.
“I’ve spent a lot of time behind the wheel of a Tadano GT-550E at my previous job,” said Chris Fairman.
“My previous role as Crane Operations Manager for Goldfields Crane Hire provided me with plenty of experience working with Tadano cranes, in particular the GT-550E. They are a beautiful crane and very easy to operate so the choice for me was easy.”
With his mind firmly set on a Tadano, Chris made the call to James Equipment’s David ‘Chalky’ White to get the ball rolling.
“I know Chalky White from James Equipment fairly well and like the way he operates. I’ve seen him deliver many new cranes and he’s always followed through on what he offers,” said Chris.
Having had the crane for only a short time, Chris has managed to secure steady work in erecting transmission towers for high profile client John Holland.
“John Holland needed a lifting solution for quite a specific project so I worked hard to make my crane ready and available,” said Chris
“I pride myself on service and work hard at finding lifting solutions for my customers. I have been lucky enough to meet some good people throughout my career who have helped on my way to starting Pinjarra Crane & Access Hire. Crane rental is where I want to focus my attention in the future and expect to increase my line-up as my customer base expands.”
Another GT-550E settles into Western Australia with the 55 tonne lifting machine rising to the top of the crane ranks. The quality Japanese hydraulic truck crane delivers an impressive top road speed of 83kph, 5 section main boom, Nissan diesel reliability and class leading lift chart.
In the future, Chris Fairman would like to explore the new Tadano Faun All-Terrain crane options for his next crane addition.
Establishing a solid reputation over 15 years, James Equipment has a broad knowledge base of crane engineering and a large network of international suppliers to draw upon. Serving the crane industry with locations right across Australia, James Equipment has an excellent range of used cranes in stock from international manufacturers including Demag, Kato, Liebherr, and Kobelco.
