“We needed to replace our old Tadano TL251 25 tonne crane that was getting a bit long in the tooth. Fortunately James Equipment already had a 30 tonne Tadano crane in stock and we had our new crane delivered and painted in company colours within 3 weeks,” said Bill Swane.

Having already replaced an older Tadano, Swanes’ new TL300E crane is set to work alongside another larger 50 tonne Tadano TG500M crane already in service.

“The choice was simple. We needed a 30 tonne crane that was built on a Nissan diesel truck carrier with right-hand drive. Tadano is the only brand that met our requirements and with our old Tadano crane giving us very few problems, it was an easy decision.”

“Our Tadano cranes are very economical to run and have proven in the past to be very versatile. Tadano with its two winches, underslung fly and without the need for additional counterweight vehicles has obvious advantages over European cranes.”

The Swane name has been a part of the Australian crane industry for over 45 years with Kenneth John “KJ” Swane starting the Swanes mobile crane business in 1958. With son Bill Swane now at the helm, the company has continued to develop markets within the Sydney metro area with great success.

Prior to the recent purchase, Swanes had only dealt with James Equipment’s spare parts division. Having the new Tadano TL300E in stock and being able to deliver the crane in Swanes colours within 3 weeks impressed the Swanes team.

“It was only 3 weeks between when we ordered the new crane to when James delivered the machine to our door in Sydney. The paint job is exceptional and is a striking representative of the Swanes name,” said Bill Swane.
