Sea Quest Releases Dazzling New 36 Footer

Brisbane based luxury boat manufacturer Sea Quest has officially launched a totally new sportsbridge cruiser, the Sea Quest 3600.  The all new GRP model establishes a new benchmark in Australian boat manufacturing, in both design and performance.

Inspired by the enduring success of the Sea Quest 3000 model, the Sea Quest 3600 is a new design from the keel up.   While the moulded hull length is 10.98m (36’), the length overall is a massive 12.70m (41’ 7”) thanks to a generous marlin board which extends from the transom.   And with a beam of 3.40m (11’ 2’), the Sea Quest 3600 has ample comfortable on-board living space and abundant cockpit space too.

By any measure this is a well proportioned and eminently seaworthy boat.

The great appeal of the Sea Quest 3600 is the sportsbridge configuration.  While most boaters are well familiar with a flybridge layout, the Sea Quest sportsbridge has an elevated helm station with a comfortable transverse bunk underneath.  While this arrangement is common in US designed boats, it often comes with an unattractive high sided hull.

Not so with the Sea Quest 3600.   In spite of offering two big sleeping cabins, one in the vee and the master cabin transverse, the hull lines remain well proportioned and contemporary.

The helm station is exceptionally clean and well appointed.  The pedestal helm seat is flanked by a comfortable bench seat.   The aft cockpit is extraordinarily spacious with clip in carpet softening the impact of such a vast area of white gelcoat.

At the flick of a button, the cockpit floor lifts on hydraulic rams to give unfettered access to the engine room.  Dual diesel sterndrive engines are installed alongside one another, while a MASE generator set, hot water system, fuel tank and ancillary gear is all contained in the engine room.

The cockpit, aft of the helm station, has features galore. There is enough room for a table and deck chairs, even a sun lounge or two. Entertaining is easy thanks to the outdoor galley with plumbed sink, ice box and freezer.

Even the transom has storage with a hinged boot opening to a huge storage bin that can be used for a rolled up inflatable, camping gear or even a portable outboard.

Moving into the cabin area, boaters simply step down a set of curved steps to enter the galley.  All the features and appointments that are found in a luxury inner city apartment are also in the galley – fridge, micro wave, electric cook top and so on.

To starboard is a dining table and beautifully appointed flush settee.   For’ard of the settee is a double berth with flat screen TV monitor, speakers and personal lighting.

Aft of the galley and directly underneath the helm station is the master cabin.  This can be fitted with just a single double bed to be a true master cabin, or if additional berthing space is required, it can also accommodate a double berth plus a single berth.

Mid ships is a well proportioned head/shower unit, closed away from the rest of the boat with a lockable door.

“This is a true family boat than can go to sea for many days at a time,” said John Young of Sea Quest Boat Sales.

“With lots of storage on board for food and drinks, a 300 litre water tank and 900 litre fuel tank gives boating families enormous flexibility to stay at sea for an extended period.”

“We are immensely proud of the Sea Quest 3600.  We feel that we have taken the Sea Quest concept to a new dimension with the new boat - a stunning vessel.”
