Sea Quest Launches New Sports Bridge 3000 Model

Bob Trask has released details of the newest model luxury cruiser produced by his SeaQuest organisation.

The Sports Bridge 3000 Limited Edition has bridged the gap between offshore flybridge boats and weekend family cruisers. The release of the new SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 10th Anniversary Limited Edition model celebrates ten years of product from Trask’s specialist luxury boat building operation.

Boasting unique feature, ‘big boat’ styling and innovative helm layout, the new SeaQuest 3000 is destined to be the perfect cruising formula for discerning boating families.

Celebrating 10 years as a manufacturer of high quality luxury Cruisers, Sea Quest MD Bob Trask explains the simple philosophy that underscores each Sea Quest Boat.

“From the beginning we have worked towards developing a boating product unlike any other in the marine industry,” Bob Trask said.

“The simple investment in time with our customers and a low volume, high quality approach to our manufacturing has borne a boating product that is without peer.”

Bob Trask is a man of few equals when it comes to boating. Not only is he the driving force behind SeaQuest Marine, but he is also a dominant force on the international stage contesting the UIM Formula 1 World Powerboat World Championship as team owner and lead driver of Team XPV. Already a front running driver in the Australian powerboat championship, Trask heads up a highly professional Australian team to challenge for the world F1 title.

The development of the new SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 is a culmination of Bob Trask’s experience and dedication to building a versatile range of family cruisers.

The SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 has been developed from the hugely successful 2800 model. With the new hull offering more water length and internal space as well as a new aft deck design. Measuring in at 9.80m loa, the new SeaQuest could easily be mistaken for a much larger vessel than it really is due to the commanding sports bridge profile and strong seaworthy hull lines.

“The new SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 is styled for families who wish to enjoy weekends and longer away from busy bays and beaches. We specifically created a mid-range blue water cruiser that is big on space, remarkably versatile, easily handled, capable offshore and features enough onboard facilities to keep all family members entertained in style,” said Bob Trask.

At first glance, the striking upper deck design resembles the profile of most flybridge cruisers with separate upper deck controls beneath a fibreglass Targa arch. However, once onboard, a closer inspection reveals that a single helm station has been raised off the main deck to provide room for a host of luxury cruiser comforts and accommodation.

While the rig is available in conventional sterndrive configuration, Sea Quest is at the cutting edge of contemporary development taking advantage of new four stroke outboard technology. Fuel efficient, powerful and quiet, this rig is a powerful performer with a pair of Suzuki 200hp four strokes on the transom, delivering a top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph).

In designing this all new Sea Quest model, Bob Trask was resolute in developing a luxury suite-style family cruiser that could also perform safely amid tough offshore conditions likely to be encountered off Australia’s coastline. The steep hull sides and deep bow profile of the new Sea Quest 3000 assure strong blue water performance while the wide reverse chine softens the swell and deflects spray forward.

The aft deck configuration of the SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 is designed for both sterndrive and dual outboard engines. The broad beam width of the hull easily caters for both engine options without sacrificing on cockpit room (the sterndrive version features a full underfloor engine installation) and both versions have terrific transom and boarding access. A huge 400L underfloor midship fuel tank widens the choice for offshore destinations.

The foredeck design is both alluring and very practical with full walk-around access protected by a mid-height stainless steel bow rail. Perfectly framing the SeaQuest’s sports bridge, sleek tinted windows running the entire breadth of the cabin offer excellent forward vision across the expansive sun deck.

Mooring and dropping anchor onboard the SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 is light work with a remote-controlled electric anchor winch. A solid anchor chain roller and bow sprit ensure a hassle free operation which is all undertaken from the comfort of the skipper’s seat.

Stealing the limelight with its impressive dash layout and ideal steering position, the Sea Quest Sports Bridge 3000 bridge deck is truly a skipper’s dream. Set midship on a raised and fully moulded platform, the bridge deck features a wrap around dash module housing an imposing array of instrument controls and navitronics.

Stepped up high above the cockpit, the bridge deck provides the perfect position for safe boat handling and has allowed the SeaQuest designers to make full use of the newfound cabin and deck space. A starboard-side deck lounge, with inbuilt 80L freezer, affords room for 2 alongside the fully adjustable, gas suspension deluxe helm chair.

Spanning the entire bridge deck, the moulded Sports Targa top provides excellent protection from the elements. Front and side clears protect the bridge while a huge sliding roof hatch and zip out forward screen assist with ventilation.

A step-through the lockable cabin doors reveals a lavish onboard apartment, complete with a fully equipped galley, separate full-height bathroom, 6-place convertible dinette plus a secluded aft cabin with double bed. Liberal use of vented window hatches and portholes allows good natural light and ventilation into this luxurious living area.

The galley facilities are split on both sides of the cabin area with the portside module housing a plumbed sink and stainless steel 2 burner stove. Across to starboard, the microwave and 120L fridge find a clever home. Polystone bench tops add to the light feel of the galley area while the slide-out pantry and storage areas are set to impress even the most astute chefs.

More often found on a much larger boat, the separate full-height bathroom is set within a moulded enclosure for water security and strength. Hot and cold pressurised water is drawn from the 230L freshwater tank, the shower is serviced with an automatic pump and the Auto San toilet features electric flush, holding tank and onboard waste water processing to AS3542-1996 and US Coast Guard Type 3 Standard. This type of system is usually only standardised on larger boats, again underlining Trask’s desire to lead the market and preserve our marine environment.

The sleeping quarters are a testament to the SeaQuest design team with the forward V-berth dinette quickly converting to a double bed suite using a deluxe custom mattress. The separate aft cabin, complete with a screened sliding window, hanging locker and deluxe custom mattress, runs starboard to portside underneath the bridge deck platform providing generous sleeping room for 2 more adults.

Onboard entertainment is well and truly catered for with an infrared remote control audio system and digital television. Bordered by cube-style cabin speakers, the 17” LCD flat panel television achieves perfect picture with the DVD/Digital tuner while the sound of music resonates through the waterproof cockpit speakers via the CD/MP3 audio system.

Almost stealing the limelight from the innovative sports bridge deck, the rear cockpit of the Sea Quest Sports Bridge 3000 is the perfect excuse to entertain. Taking full advantage of the wide beam, the cockpit layout is broad and uncluttered with a rear dining lounge area taking pride of place. A ¾ quarter length dining table can easily be detached and stored behind the lounge.

Stainless steel grab rails are recessed into the coamings to provide good support in rough sees while underneath, side pockets provide good storage for a host of holiday accessories. Welcome creature comforts further adorn the cockpit with a freshwater wash basin integrated into the bridge deck platform.

When the morning calls for a serious session of blue water angling, the cockpit can be transformed from a euro-inspired café lounge, to a seriously well setup fishing workstation. A fully plumbed live bait tank, coamings littered with rod holders, twin 90 litre removable underfloor storage boxes and a huge 2000 litre plus underfloor storage compartment put forward a compelling case to pack the fishing gear. On the SeaQuest factory demonstration boat this compartment housed a Quicksliver inflatable dingy, 2.2hp outboard, water toys, fishing and diving equipment all with room to spare!

Simplicity in design is none more evident than at the rear transom of the new SeaQuest. A sterndrive engine choice provides anglers and swimmers with a full width swimming platform but even the twin outboard configuration leaves plenty of room out the back for recreational pursuits.

Access to the water is through the lockable transom door, via the stainless steel telescopic ladder. The extra SeaQuest touch is also noticeable with the freshwater deck shower and recessed external transom storage for the mooring fenders.

The SeaQuest brand has become come synonymous with simplicity in design, lateral thought in manufacturing and above all, customer satisfaction. The new SeaQuest Sports Bridge 3000 is a true reflection of Bob Trask’s philosophy, bringing together all the necessities of a family sports cruiser and creating a very capable offshore weekender.

Sea Quest Marine is a wholly Australian owned and operated business with the boat manufacturing business situated in Brisbane, Queensland. Built on the foundation of customer satisfaction, the Sea Quest brand is well respected throughout Australia and the Pacific and the 10th Anniversary celebration models will further reinforce this position.

Meticulously constructed under the watchful eye of F1 World Championship power boat racer and MD Bob Trask, the exclusive range of boutique Sea Quest family cruisers are available only through the manufacturing facility in Clontarf, Brisbane.
