Having just rolled off the floor from the Lewis manufacturing facility in Auburn NSW, the newly developed wakeboarding boats were quickly transported up to their eager owners in southern Queensland.
The Lewis 2080 Challenger is the newest model to the Lewis Boat range offering a smaller, more compact alternative to the existing 2280 Challenger. Answering the call of dedicated wake boarders for larger and taller wakes, the Challenger V-Drive bow riders provide professional sized wakes, onboard room and comfort plus the legendary Lewis hull performance.
“Our recent Lewis Boats appointment was an exciting time for us’, said Wynnum Marine Director Danny Nichols. “The exceptionally strong interest in the Lewis brand this early in the peace has exceeded our expectations.”
“The fact that the first two Lewis Challenger 2080 bow riders built by Lewis Boats have been sold through Wynnum Marine, shows great market acceptance of Lewis’ newest V-Drive boat and Wynnum Marine as a Lewis agent. We are all delighted.”
The striking first impression of the Challenger Series is due in part to Lewis Boats’ flare for innovative design and modern styling. A high tech carbon fibre dash panel with easily visible gauges welcomes the driver while a full wrap around lounge embraces an open cockpit layout.
A 5.7L V8 MerCruiser delivering 315hp sets the 2080 Challenger alight with ample power and manoeuvrability for both high end slalom skiing or constant, ballast-pushing wake sessions. The long list of standard features is also offered with the optional Lewis Wake Package featuring a tower and ballast setup.
“Both new Challenger 2080 boats we sold have been optioned up with the Wake Package and strike a commanding pose with stunning graphics and sleek wakeboard tower with stereo speakers,” said Danny Nichols.
“The slightly smaller 2080 Challenger is an appealing option for leisure sport enthusiasts looking for a professional size wake from a smaller, more manoeuvrable boat. Lewis Boats has managed to minimise the overall size without sacrificing internal space and has delivered an ideal day boat for any family competition.”
Wynnum Marine is owned and operated by the legendary boat building Nichols family. Wynnum Marine is the home of CruiseCraft Boats plus other quality brands including Ally Craft and Lewis Boats. The company is also an agent for Yamaha, Johnson, and Evinrude outboards and offers the public a large range of marine accessories and a first class marine service centre.
