Having joined Yamaha in 2001, Alex enjoys an enviable reputation amongst Yamaha dealers having been a sales representative with responsibility for all of NSW.
The appointment became available through the retirement of Jim Robertson, a long serving and highly regarded Yamaha man having spent 23 years working with the Yamaha brand.
Alex Panagakis commenced his marine career as an outboard mechanic working with Enterprise Marine for almost six years. After a short stint outside the industry, Alex quickly realised that he harboured an affinity with the marine industry in general and the Yamaha brand in particular.
“I joined Yamaha in 2001 as I envisaged great opportunities ahead with both boating and Yamaha as the outboard market leader,” Alex reflected.
“In Jim Robertson I was fortunate to have a knowledgeable and experienced leader and now I have the opportunity to take what I have learnt and apply my own style and ideas to the position.”
According to Brett Hampson, National Sales & Marketing Manager for Marine Products at Yamaha, Alex Panagakis was the standout candidate for the position of NSW Marine Manager.
“Alex has a great relationship with the Yamaha dealers and he knows the marine business,” Brett said. “We have the utmost confidence in Alex and he has worked diligently to earn this promotion.”
In looking to the future, Alex has firm objectives in terms of dealer development and dealer sales training.
“I am going to be spending more time in the field working with dealers to help them with the professional presentation of their dealership. There is also great scope to work on the sales training side of dealerships to help dealers’ better service their customers.”
“There are exciting times ahead,” Alex concluded.
Yamaha outboards are available through an Australia-wide network of authorised Yamaha outboard dealers. All Yamaha outboard models are fully backed by a comprehensive two-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Yamaha will extend the warranty to 3 years on 2-Stroke and 4 years on 4-Stroke provided the engine is serviced by an authorised Yamaha dealer.
