James Bond with Yamaha
Yamaha Outboards deserve to win an Oscar after a dramatic performance alongside James Bond in the latest 007 movie, Quantum of Solace.
Right from the start Bond’s Yamaha “sidekicks” back him up as he leaps from his motorcycle onto the dock and jumps aboard a boat powered by an F40 to catch up with villains. He pulls the starter cord for an instant response before speeding away across Panama Harbour.
More Yamaha action ensues when Bond finds himself in a bigger boat, being chased by villains in menacing-looking RIBs, powered by equally awesome-looking Yamaha F150 outboards.
They try their best to destroy these rigs in a sequence of impossibly high speed jumps, collisions and crashes – the sort of thing we have come to expect and enjoy in a Bond movie.
The Yamaha partnership with Quantum of Solace extended behind the scenes too, with its outboards being the power of choice for the many crew boats, camera vessels and support craft needed for making the movie – a tribute to Yamaha’s renowned performance, durability and reliability.
