Yamaha Showcases '09 WaveRunners to Dealers
The first shipment of new 2009 model Yamaha WaveRunners were recently put through their paces at Penrith in NSW at the annual WaveRunner Dealer Launch.
Assuming pride of place were the two new WaveRunner FZ models, the Yamaha WaveRunner FZS and FZR. The FZ Series ushers in a new era of high performance design as this is the first sit-down watercraft made for stand-up riding.
Central to the versatility of the 2009 Yamaha FZ series is the innovative, 3 position telescopic steering column. This gives the rider the option to ride seated or standing, depending on where the rider is most comfortable on rough or smooth water.
The Yamaha FZ series brings together the industry’s largest displacement, supercharged engine (1812cc) into an advanced hull to deliver an adrenalin pumping package for the most demanding PWC enthusiast.
The FZ’s new hull design combines exceptionally tight turning with an edge-to-edge inside lean character that is both exhilarating yet precise. Manufactured using Yamaha’s award winning NanoXcel technology, the Yamaha FZ series is quick and nimble, but with balance and manoeuvrability that elevates this WaveRunner above the rest.
The FZ series is available in two configurations, the FZR is a two person model. The FZS model can carry three people and has the added versatility to tow a skier or ski tube. The FZ styling reflects Yamaha’s racing heritage – sleek lines, deep gauge automotive instrumentation, and a fastback profile with bold colours and graphics that make this series a genuine standout.
The MY 2009 WaveRunner launch was staged at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. WaveRunner dealers came from all over Australia and New Zealand to attend the launch which comprised presentations on the new product line up, followed by plenty of on-water time to put the new model Yamaha WaveRunners through their paces.
“It is vitally important that we involve our dealers in new product launches,” said Iain MacLeod, Yamaha’s WaveRunner Sales & Marketing Manager.
“As Yamaha WaveRunner dealers have first hand knowledge and experience of the new MY 209 line up, they are exceptionally well placed to advise and assist customers.”
Also launched at the 2009 WaveRunner launch were the two new FX series models. Last year Yamaha broke new ground with the release of the Yamaha FX HO and FX Cruiser HO.
The FX series is the most technologically advanced PWC in the world today. The FX series is powered by the industry’s first and only 1.8 litre engine that is the largest displacement motor ever designed for a PWC.
Yamaha engineers took a bit of the best from the FX series to create the FX Cruiser HO – a high output engine, Cruiser comfort, innovative touring features, class leading fuel efficiency that all come together seamlessly for a luxurious and exhilarating ride.
The Yamaha FX HO model is both innovative and progressive. The FX HO features a more aggressive body style and graphics that exude performance both on and off the water.
Yamaha WaveRunners are available through an Australia-wide network of authorised Yamaha WaveRunner dealers.
